Stitches are History!

Some of you may remember that Baby got a secondary cut from skin tearing that had nothing to do with the amputation – the when it rains it pours concept.  Now those stitches are out and she is finally incision free!  Yay!

Every step’s a big one when you’re a tripawd!

Does ‘splits’ become split when it’s with one leg?

When we get home Baby and Toby are so excited they rush the door to see who gets to see us first. Note – thats 300 lbs of dog rushing us…. you get used to it.
Yesterday Baby slipped on a rug and did what I can only discribe as the splits, hmmmm can you do the splits with one leg? Tricky. Luckily she caught herself before she was too far down and was just a little sore last night. Scared me half to death! It was good for lots of message – she’s a happy girl!

Not Fair! Toby gets to go, why not me?

Baby’s doing great!  Now the problem is, she thinks she can do everything.  She doesn’t understand when Toby gets a long walk, or a ride in the car to the dog park and she doesn’t get to go.  She gets so sad!  Those darn Monky Butts!, but if we don’t give Toby enough exercise he becomes a MB to the max!

What’s worked for you?  I would love ideas.

Stitches out! woo hoo!

Saw our regular vet today.  He’s so happy with Baby’s progess!  She got the rest of her stitches out and everything looks good.  She also had stitches put in, sigh, because she got a small sore from her harness which tore like a piece of fabric.  It was the weirdest thing!  Doc Kunan stitched it up and she’ll be fine, but I was so mad that she had to have more stuff to feel pain about.  Enough is enough already.  Although, when I hear of some of you battling infection and recurring cancer I count my blessings.  We have her, she’ll heal (although maybe not ‘heel’) and she’ll be fine.

Wags and Slobbers all around!

Baby’s heart : )

So I’m about to go to work this morning and a warning light comes on saying tire pressure is low.  This is such a no big deal problem, yet for some reason, all the emotions I had been holding in decided to burst out.  I went in the house and had one of those gut wrenching sob cries.

Suddenly, I heard this soft whimper/howl sound.  I had never heard it before, then I looked at Baby and sure enough – she was crying with me.  This is a dog who has never complained about any pain, about surgery, about post-op pain, or anything! Yet, here she was being empathic and comforting for me.

My Baby’s heart is as big as she is!  Love my girl!

Some of my new ‘blog friends’ asked for pictures.  I’m sure there’s a better way to do this – pages perhaps?, but I have only figured out blog and forums so far.  Enjoy.
