Baby made it through surgery! 5 1/2 hours worth. YAY! Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

Author: Judy

Roger and I have adopted many furbabies in our 35 years of marriage. Baby is a 6 yr. old 155lb English Mastiff who came to us when she was 1 1/2 yrs old along with her 'brother' Toby (a Landseer Newfoundland). We adopted them from Gentle Giants rescue and they are, indeed, both Gentle Giants. Baby was diagnosed with bone cancer in January 2012. She just had her surgery on January 27th, 2012 to remove her right rear leg. She is recovering beautifully we are thrilled to have her with us!

  1. Such relief when you get that phone call! I thought I posted on your blog yesterday, but its not there. Your girl is beautiful! I love the brindle color.
If you have specific questions, or want to share more of your story you should check out the forums. Many more people there- and tons of information on amputation, recovery, treatment, and lots more.
Rest up while Baby is at the hospital, the first days or couple of weeks home can be hard. Hopefully Baby is one of the lucky ones who sail through recovery.

    1. Thanks… I am a little scared of the next couple weeks, but she’s so worth it! I’m so grateful this communication exists. It’s very reassuring and I’m sure I’ll be online a lot!

  3. What a relief! The waiting is terrible, isn’t it?!
I hope Baby’s recovery is easy…well, as easy as it can be.
