We went to see Baby tonight and had to laugh – the lovely techs who had been caring for her thought they would make a sling for her like they have for horses, so she can get used to putting weight on her legs. She hadn’t been up at all since her surgery Friday. As soon as she saw us she jumped up and wagged her tail. The tech said ‘guess we won’t need the sling tomorrow’. Poor thing, she had put so much thought into helping our Baby and we so appreciate it. We’re so excited about how well Baby’s doing. She looks great, the wound looks dry and healthy and she’s eating. I think we will be able to bring her home Tuesday night. I guess these big girls (155 lbs) take a little longer. We can’t wait to get her home!
YAY that’s awesome news!!!! Go get em Big Girl. She sure is beautiful.
Keep up the good work and soon she’ll be home where she belongs.
glad baby is doing so well – get plenty of rest, tuesday will be here before you know it!!

Yay!!! So good to hear! Ditto on what Charon said, though – get LOTS of rest before she comes home!
Yes, rest up as much as possible. Even if she doesn’t need you, you lay there listening for every little sound those first couple of nights…
Glad surgery went well. She looks great. Reminds me of my “nephew” – my bro has a bit sweet mastiff as well.
All the best,
Jackie, Angel Abby’s mom
Oh, that’s terrific news! So glad that she’s doing well.
She’s so beautiful and she’s a big girl for sure! 155! That’s 25 pounds more than my 14 year old son…wow! 🙂
Welcome home, Baby! You will do beautifully on three legs.
